THE EXPERIENCE
Try Freediving is designed for people who are curious about freediving but are not yet ready to commit to a full certification course. We keep the day relaxed, structured and focused on comfort rather than depth.
You will learn the basic ideas behind breathing, relaxation, equalization, equipment and buddy safety, then put them into practice in shallow, controlled water with an SSI professional.
You want to understand how freediving feels before deciding whether to take a full course.
You can swim, enjoy the sea and want a guided introduction with safety and technique from the beginning.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Try Freediving is built for complete beginners who want to experience the sport properly before choosing a certification pathway.
YOUR HALF-DAY IN KAŞ
The exact flow changes with the diver, but a typical Life Aquatic Try Freediving experience follows these five stages.
Meet your instructor, discuss water confidence, the session plan, basic safety and what freediving actually is.
Learn comfortable preparation breathing, how relaxation changes a breath-hold and how to recover after a dive.
Set up mask, snorkel, fins and exposure protection, then practice the basic equalization technique needed for shallow dives.
Put the skills together in controlled water: body position, duck dive, finning, equalization and calm short dives.
Review what felt easy or challenging and decide whether you want to continue into the full SSI Freediver pathway.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
How to prepare without hyperventilation, relax before a dive and make a breath-hold feel more comfortable.
Why pressure changes underwater and how to equalize early and gently during shallow descents.
Body position, finning and simple movement patterns that help you use less energy in the water.
How a freediving mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and weight system are used and adjusted.
Why freedivers never train alone and what safe observation and communication look like.
A simple, repeatable recovery routine after surfacing and the habit of staying relaxed at the surface.
WHY LIFE AQUATIC IN KAŞ
For a first session, details matter. At Life Aquatic we keep beginner courses small, use direct instructor feedback and introduce skills progressively in Kaş so the first objective is comfort — not a number on the dive line.
We use progressive practice, individual feedback and realistic session goals so the skill you learn is repeatable — not something that only worked once during the course.
WHICH BEGINNER OPTION?

Yes. The equipment needed for the Try Freediving experience is included. We confirm sizing and what to bring before your session.
Try Freediving is an SSI recognition experience, not the full SSI Freediver certification. If you enjoy it, the next step is the SSI Freediver course.
You should be comfortable in the water and fit to swim. Tell us before booking if you have any concerns about swimming ability or water confidence.
That is common on a first session. We teach the basic mechanics, practice them in shallow water and never force depth if the ears are not equalizing comfortably.
