Water
Our starting point. The sea is where we train, teach, explore and reconnect with ourselves.
A life shaped by water, nature, freedom and the people we meet along the way.
OUR PHILOSOPHY ↓Aquatic means relating to water — living in it, around it and in connection with it. For us, that connection is not simply part of our work. It is essential to the way we choose to live.
We built Life Aquatic around the sea because we want to spend as much of our lives close to water as possible. Freediving is one of the purest ways we know to experience that relationship: one breath, less equipment, less noise and a deeper awareness of ourselves and the environment around us.
That is why Life Aquatic has never been only a freediving school. It is a place where people can share a lifestyle, discover a new kind of freedom underwater, learn from one another and leave with an experience that goes beyond a course or a depth number.
We are here because we love the sea, nature, the sky and the stars — and because we value peace. We believe looking after ourselves is connected to looking after the world around us. Freediving reminds us of that relationship and has an extraordinary ability to bring people together.
Depth can be part of freediving. It is never the whole story.
Our starting point. The sea is where we train, teach, explore and reconnect with ourselves.
Freediving creates trust and community. We want every diver to feel part of the experience, not simply enrolled in a course.
Our relationship with the underwater world comes with responsibility. Respect for the environment is part of how we dive and live.
Freediving gives each person space to discover their own expression — through relaxation, movement, awareness and progression.
Courses bring people to Life Aquatic, but the shared time around the sea is what often stays with them. Training, conversation, coffee, recovery and everyday moments around the school are all part of the community we want to create.
Life Aquatic grew from a simple idea: create a place where a genuine love of the sea could become a shared experience. Over time, that idea developed into a freediving school and community in Kaş — a Mediterranean town whose clear water, dramatic coastline and outdoor culture naturally fit the way we wanted to live.
Today we teach people taking their first breath-hold underwater, certified freedivers developing technique and depth, and experienced divers continuing toward higher levels. The level may change, but our approach stays the same: personal attention, sound education, safe progression and time in the water.
Life Aquatic was shaped by people whose connection with the sea became part of the school’s identity.
Adnan’s relationship with the sea began long before Life Aquatic. Growing up around Istanbul’s coast, the Bosphorus and the Princes’ Islands, water became a constant part of his life. That connection eventually developed into freediving, coaching and the creation of Life Aquatic in Kaş.
MEET ADNAN →A founding member of Life Aquatic, Isabel Both helped shape the school’s early connection between freediving, yoga and a life lived close to the sea. She now lives in Germany and is no longer part of the school’s day-to-day operations, while remaining part of Life Aquatic’s history.
Life Aquatic has grown through a small community of freediving instructors and safety-minded divers who share the same approach: personal attention, calm coaching and responsible progression.

Kaş is not simply where Life Aquatic is located. It is one of the reasons Life Aquatic became what it is.
Clear Mediterranean water, easy access to depth, a dramatic coastline and a life naturally connected to the sea make Kaş an exceptional place for freediving. Here, training does not feel separated from everyday life — the water, the people, recovery, conversation and time outside all become part of the experience.
For beginners, Kaş offers a calm and inspiring introduction to freediving. For experienced divers and athletes, it provides the conditions to train consistently, refine technique and explore greater depth with purpose.
