SSI PROFESSIONAL TRAINING · LIFE AQUATIC
Train personally with Adnan Yanbay, SSI Freediving Instructor Trainer. All enrollment and certification decisions follow the current SSI Training Standards.
Full instructor training. SSI recommends 70–85 training hours.
Two additional training days for eligible SSI Freediving Instructors. All upgrade prerequisites and evaluations apply.
Freediving Instructor course plus the two-day Advanced upgrade, provided the candidate meets the Advanced prerequisites. The upgrade is not automatic.
Minimum age: 18.
Route 1: At least 100 logged in-water freediving sessions, plus Advanced Freediver and Training Techniques certifications (or accepted equivalents).
Route 2: Advanced Freediver and Training Techniques (or accepted equivalents), plus Basic Freediving Instructor (or accepted equivalent) and at least 25 Basic Freediver certifications issued.
Digital learning Sections 1–8 and reviews; Academic Sessions 1–8; final exam; Candidate Water Fitness Evaluation if the previous evaluation is over six months old; and successful Practical Application Sessions 1–10. Complete the required training record and SSI certification processing.
Minimum age: 18.
Full-course Route 1: 100 logged in-water freediving sessions plus Performance Freediver and Training Techniques (or accepted equivalents).
Route 2: Performance Freediver (or accepted equivalent) plus SSI Freediving Instructor.
Route 3: SSI Freediving Instructor plus at least 10 Freediver and 5 Training Techniques certifications issued.
For eligible SSI Freediving Instructors: Section 9 digital learning and reviews; Academic Session 9; Candidate Water Fitness Evaluation if the previous evaluation is over six months old; and successful Practical Application Sessions 2 and 6–10. Full Advanced Instructor course requirements differ from this upgrade pathway.
Important: The two-day upgrade is available only to candidates who meet the Advanced Instructor prerequisites and can complete all required evaluations. Training days may be extended if additional preparation is needed. Course fees exclude equipment, SSI materials, professional membership, registration or certification fees unless expressly confirmed in your quote. Medical, rescue, first-aid and professional-status requirements are verified individually under applicable SSI standards. Attendance does not guarantee certification.
